Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is reportedly ready to submit a £5m offer for Fulham midfielder Clint Dempsey.
The American international, who is believed to have turned down the chance to extend his contract with the Whites, went on record recently to express his desire to play for a club that competes in Europe regularly.
That has alerted Rodgers, who is keen to add a goalscoring midfielder to his squad before the start of the season, according to Goal.com.
Fulham are thought to value the 29-year-old at around £9m. However, Rodgers is confident of securing his target for a lot less money because he has just 12 months remaining on his current deal.
