Ben Davies joins Sheffield United on loan from Liverpool for the remainder of the 2021-22 season.

Liverpool have confirmed that Ben Davies has joined Sheffield United on loan for the 2021-22 season.

The former Preston North End defender arrived at Anfield in January alongside Ozan Kabak, with the Reds seeking cover for injury victims Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip.

However, amid his own injury problems, Davies is yet to make a single competitive appearance for Jurgen Klopp's side, and he has affirmed that moving to Bramall Lane was for the good of his career.

Speaking to the official Sheffield United website, Davies said: "[Joining Liverpool] was a move that you could never turn down, it was really exciting.

"The whole set-up there is incredible, the club is like you wouldn't believe until you actually get in there and see it for yourself. So I've had a good six months or so, but playing football is the most important thing to any footballer.

"That's what got me driven to come out on loan and hopefully play some games and get back enjoying that competitive side again."

Davies - who is under contract at Liverpool until the summer of 2025 - featured twice in pre-season for the Reds, including the win against Osasuna in front of the Anfield crowd.
