The son of West Ham United co-owner David Sullivan suggests that Andy Carroll will not be moving to Upton Park.

The son of West Ham United co-owner David Sullivan has dropped a big hint suggesting that the club have given up in their pursuit of Liverpool forward Andy Carroll.

Carroll is not believed to feature in the plans of Reds boss Brendan Rodgers and the Hammers had reportedly agreed a fee for the 23-year-old.

Jack Sullivan, who had last month said that his father had been "working on the biggest signing in the history of the club", has now suggested that such a deal is dead.

He tweeted: "Sadly the main player we wanted has stayed with the club he's at.

"Despite trying very hard and agreeing terms with the club, we now move on with other targets.

"Anyway we only want player that want to play for WHU."

Carroll scored four Premier League goals in 35 appearances last season.
