Jamie Carragher tips Ross Barkley for World Cup spot

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher tips Ross Barkley for a spot in England's World Cup squad.

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has tipped Everton's Ross Barkley for a place in England's World Cup squad.

The Blues youngster made his international debut in September last year, and Carragher, who played 737 times for the Reds, believes that the Three Lions boss Roy Hodgson will take Barkley to Brazil this summer.

Writing in his Daily Mail column, Carragher said: "Back in August, I highlighted the Everton midfielder as one to watch and he has done nothing but improve.

"An explosive talent, with energy and two great feet, he is another who Roy Hodgson will come calling for in June."

Everton are currently fifth in the Premier League.
