Manchester City to play Bayern Munich, Roma in Champions League

Manchester City are drawn to play Bayern Munich and Roma in the draw for the Champions League group stages.

Manchester City have been drawn to play Bayern Munich in the Champions League for the third time in four years.

City had hoped to earn a more favourable draw than in recent years after being promoted to Pot Two, but the Premier League champions will be up against it to qualify from Group E

As well as drawing the 2012 winners, Manuel Pellegrini's side have also been paired with Russian side CSKA Moscow and Serie A runners-up Roma, who were in Pot Four after several years of poor performances in Europe.

The first round of group fixtures will be played on September 16 and September 17.
