Samir Nasri insists that the Citizens are no more desperate to lead the Premier League than before their Champions League exit.

Samir Nasri has insisted that Manchester City are as hungry as ever following their Champions League exit in midweek.

The Frenchman, who is preparing to face Chelsea tomorrow night, has dismissed the notion that the Citizens are more eager to win the Premier League now after crashing out of Europe's top competition.

"The Champions League setback will not make us more hungry to win the Premier League," he said. "We were hungry from the first game of the season.

"At the start we wanted to win everything. We can't win the Champions League now but we will try to win the Europa League, and the Premier League as well."

The Citizens can restore their five-point lead at the top of the table with a win at Chelsea.
