New Manchester City signing Aymeric Laporte is in the starting XI for the Premier League leaders' meeting with West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday night.

New Manchester City signing Aymeric Laporte has been drafted into the starting XI for the Premier League leaders' meeting with West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday night.

The Spaniard, who joined from Athletic Bilbao on Tuesday, replaces John Stones, who has been left out of the matchday squad through illness.

Bernardo Silva comes into midfield with Leroy Sane sidelined with an ankle injury, and Fabian Delph's absence means that Oleksandr Zinchenko keeps his place at left-back.

West Brom are without Jonny Evans, who is believed to be on the radar of Arsenal, while Daniel Sturridge, signed on loan from Liverpool earlier this week, is on the bench.

Jay Rodriguez starts up front alongside Salomon Rondon, and Claudio Yacob comes into midfield alongside Grzegorz Krychowiak, with Sam Field also starting.

Gareth Barry is named on the bench, with Gareth McAuley captaining the Premier League's bottom side.
