Sergio Aguero close to new Manchester City contract?

Sergio Aguero is on the verge of signing a new contract with Manchester City that will tie him to the club until 2020, according to a report.

Contract negotiations between Sergio Aguero and Manchester City have reportedly reached an advanced stage.

The Sun claims that the talks will be concluded after today's League Cup final between the Citizens and Liverpool at Wembley.

Aguero's current deal is due to expire in 2019, but the report adds that the new terms will tie the Argentine to the Etihad Stadium by a further 12 months.

It is also believed that the 27-year-old will pick up £250,000 a week, which will make him the best-paid player in the club's history.

Aguero joined City from Atletico Madrid in 2011 and he has gone on to score 124 goals in all competitions.
