Lionel Messi's agent and father Jorge will reportedly fly into Barcelona on Monday to hold talks with the club over a new contract for the superstar forward.
Argentina international Messi is into the final three months of his Barca deal, meaning that he is free to discuss a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs.
The six-time Ballon d'Or winner failed in an attempt to force through a move last year, but he still has plenty of suitors to choose from, including Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City.
However, the reappointment of president Joan Laporta earlier this week has offered Barca hope of persuading Messi to stay on for at least another season.
According to TNT Sports journalist Maximiliano Grillo, the 33-year-old's future could become a little clearer over the coming days.
It is claimed that Jorge is due to speak to Laporta early next week, with a new deal for Messi at the top of the Barca president's list of priorities.
Speaking on Friday, PSG president Leonardo insisted that the French champions are no closer to striking a deal for Messi.
