Jose Mourinho disappointed with Luke Shaw injury

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho admits that he is disappointed that Luke Shaw has been ruled out of the game with Everton through injury.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has described the injury picked up by defender Luke Shaw as "a pity".

Shaw has been ruled out of United's clash with Everton after sustaining the problem against West Ham United in the EFL Cup, and Mourinho has admitted that he is disappointed to lose the left-back for the match at Goodison Park after attempting to ease his player back into the team.

The Portuguese told MUTV: "The injury is a pity. We were on this process of developing him as a player.

"He has a lot to learn and great potential to develop so we were giving him 90 minutes. Not consecutive matches but 90 minutes against Feyenoord then, one week later, 90 minutes against West Ham, but he got this little injury."

After missing the majority of the last campaign with a broken leg, Shaw has made 13 appearances in all competitions this season.
