Rio Ferdinand believes that Manchester United have won the Premier League title in the "right way".

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand believes that the Red Devils deserve credit for winning the Premier League title in the "right way".

The North-West outfit nabbed their 20th title with a 3-0 win over Aston Villa last night.

Sir Alex Ferguson's men wrapped up the title with a 16-point lead over rivals Manchester City, who secured last season's trophy on goal difference.

"It's always sweet when you win the title and it's nice to do it here, in the right way and in style, not on goal difference," the Irish Independent quotes Ferdinand as saying.

"We have won it outright and we have won it comfortably. It just shows the resilience and attitude the manager has instilled in us. A lot of teams would probably have fallen away."

United have four games left to play in their campaign.
