Lazio have reportedly indicated that they are keen to sign Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian.
The versatile Italian has been frequently linked with a transfer away from Old Trafford, but the 28-year-old failed to secure a move back to his homeland during the summer.
However, according to Il Messaggero, Lazio have opened negotiations regarding a potential switch during the January transfer window.
Lazio have enjoyed a strong start to the campaign with 22 points coming from 12 matches in Serie A, but Le Aquile look like they intend to be active in the market at the midway point of the season.
Darmian has not made an appearance for United since August 10, despite being able to play in a number of positions across United's backline.
United have the option to extend Darmian's contract by a further year, with his existing deal due to expire in the summer.
Juventus, Inter Milan and Roma are also said to be monitoring the situation.
