Manchester United join Chelsea in hunt for Raphael Varane?

Raphael Varane is the centre of a January transfer tug-of-war between Manchester United and Chelsea, a report claims.

Manchester United have reportedly joined the race to sign Chelsea target Raphael Varane in the January transfer window.

The 21-year-old France international, who was repeatedly linked with a move to the current Premier League leaders in the summer, is said to have now caught the eye of Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal.

A report in Spanish publication Marca claims that, despite a £19m move to Chelsea having already been agreed, the young defender will now be the centre of a transfer tug-of-war between the two Premier League giants.

Varane admitted earlier this week that he is not happy with the amount of game time he is being afforded at the Bernabeu, which has opened the door for his exit in the New Year.
