Real Madrid centre-back Raphael Varane reportedly gives Manchester United his word that he will join them in the summer transfer window.

Raphael Varane has reportedly told Manchester United that he intends to join them during the summer transfer window.

Real Madrid have supposedly accepted that the World Cup-winning Frenchman will depart this summer, and it is now up to the Red Devils to agree a fee with the La Liga giants.

In the meantime, Man United are thought to be making strong progress on the personal side of the transfer, and a recent report claimed that the two parties had reached a pre-agreement for a five-year deal with Varane.

Now, Sport suggests that Varane has given Man United his word that he will put pen to paper on a deal at Old Trafford as he prepares to end his 10-year stint with Los Blancos.

The centre-back has won four Champions Leagues and three La Liga titles during his time at the Bernabeu, but his existing deal with Real is now due to expire in under 12 months' time.

Varane could link up with fellow Frenchman Paul Pogba at Old Trafford for the 2021-22 campaign, but the two players were allegedly involved in a fracas following Les Bleus' Euro 2020 exit to Switzerland.
