Report: Barcelona to offer cut-price Alex Song to Arsenal, Manchester United

Arsenal and Manchester United are among those reportedly poised to be offered Alex Song at a cut-price deal by Barcelona in January.

Manchester United and Arsenal are among those reportedly on alert as Barcelona consider offloading Alex Song next month for a cut-price £10m.

The Cameroon international has struggled to nail down a regular starting berth at Camp Nou since his £15m move to Catalunya from the Gunners 17 months ago.

Barca boss Gerardo Martino publicly criticised Song after the club's 4-1 Copa del Rey victory over Cartagena on Friday and, according to The Daily Star, the Spanish giants are willing to cut their losses on the midfielder, with both Premier League outfits thought to be heading the queue.

Wenger, who signed the 26-year-old from Bastia in 2006, is no stranger to welcoming old faces back to the club, with Sol Campbell, Thierry Henry, Jens Lehman and Mathieu Flamini among those who have returned to the club having previously quit the North London outfit.

Arsenal, who currently sit at the summit of the Premier League, 12 points clear of reigning champions United, host Everton at the Emirates Stadium at 4pm this evening.
