Villarreal centre-back Pau Torres has revealed that he is learning English amid reported interest from Manchester United.
The Spaniard has developed into a star player for the Yellow Submarine in the last few years and has recently seen his stock rise since making his international debut in November.
According to the Manchester Evening News, United are keen to sign a left-footed central defender to partner club captain Harry Maguire and they believe Torres is the ideal candidate.
The 24-year-old would allegedly be interested in a move to Old Trafford this summer, with the Red Devils one of a number of clubs, including Manchester City, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, considering making a move.
In an interview with Spanish newspaper El Periodico Mediterraneo, Torres revealed that "learning English" kept himself busy away from football during the first lockdown and that "now is a good time to resume it" alongside his current training regime.
Torres is under contract with Villarreal until June 2024 and has a release clause believed to be worth around £52m.
However, due to the current financial climate, the La Liga outfit may consider a player-plus-cash offer for the defender this summer.
