RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner is reportedly still keen to join Liverpool in this summer's transfer window despite suggestions that Manchester United are interested in his services.
The Germany international has been in impressive form during the 2019-20 campaign, scoring 27 times and registering 12 assists in 36 appearances in all competitions.
The 24-year-old is widely expected to leave Leipzig this summer, and United have recently been credited with an interest as they attempt to bring a new striker to the club.
However, according to Bild, Liverpool are still leading the race for Werner, who would prefer a move to Anfield over the likes of United and also Chelsea.
The striker has scored 21 Bundesliga goals this term, while he has found the back of the net on four occasions in eight Champions League appearances.
Clubs are currently waiting to learn when they might be able to conduct their summer transfer business due to the coronavirus outbreak.
