Nottingham Forest reject Burnley's bid for Britt Assombalonga?

Nottingham Forest reportedly turn down an offer of £8m from Burnley for striker Britt Assombalonga.

Burnley have reportedly failed with an £8m bid for Nottingham Forest striker Britt Assombalonga.

Earlier on Tuesday, it was claimed that the Clarets had backed up their initial interest with a big-money offer for the 24-year-old.

However, according to Sky Sports News, Forest have decided to rebuff their advances in an effort to keep hold of their star man.

Since signing for Forest three years ago, Assombalonga has scored 30 goals in 69 appearances in all competitions, with some of that period being spent on the sidelines with a serious knee injury.

Forest head coach Mark Warburton has previously suggested that the club may sell Assombalonga should they receive an offer which meets their valuation, but that is likely to be in excess of £10m.

Burnley are looking for a replacement for Andre Gray, who is expected to leave Turf Moor before the end of the transfer window.
