Guiseppe Sannino has been replaced by Gian Piero Gasperini as coach of Palermo following the Italian club's poor start to the season.
Sannino signed a two-year deal with the club in June but has guided the Rosanero to one draw and two defeats in the opening three games of the campaign.
"We would like to thank him and his coaching staff for the commitment and professionalism shown in recent months," read a club statement.
"At the same time the club has appointed Gian Piero Gasperini, who will lead his first training session with the team on Tuesday afternoon."
Gasperini has been out of work since he was sacked as manager of Inter Milan after just three games in charge last year.
