Blackpool beat Peterborough United 4-1 in the Championship clash at London Road.

Blackpool put in a prolific second-half performance to beat Peterborough United 4-1 at London Road this afternoon.

Peterborough had the first chance when George Boyd looked to find Dwight Gayle, but Matt Gilks reacted quickly to deny the opportunity.

After 20 minutes, Tiago Gomes came close for Blackpool, firing a 25-yard shot just over the bar.

The Posh came close again through Boyd, but he was denied by Gilks from six yards out.

Dwight Gayle had a great chance for the home side when Blackpool's defence left him free in the penalty area. However, he couldn't get his head to the ball.

The away side took the lead after 51 minutes when Thomas Ince crossed to Wes Thomas, who headed home to make it 1-0.

On 58 minutes, the Seasiders were awarded a penalty when Thomas burst into the box and was brought down. Ince stepped up and sent the goalkeeper the wrong way to make it 2-0.

Gayle pulled a goal back for the Posh after 71 minutes, pouncing on a weak back-pass by Alex Baptiste to put the scores at 2-1.

Soon after, Ince almost restored Blackpool's two-goal advantage, but after rounding the goalkeeper, he hit the sidenetting.

Blackpool got their third after Angel Martinez's cross was converted by Nouha Dicko.

Minutes later, Ince made it 4-1 with a strike on the break.
