Tony Fernandes blasts "armchair critics" over Loic Remy departure

Owner Tony Fernandes responds to Queens Park Rangers fans that have been criticising the decision to let Loic Remy join Chelsea.

Queens Park Rangers owner Tony Fernandes has hit back at supporters that have criticised the departure of Loic Remy during the summer transfer window.

Following yesterday's 2-0 defeat away at West Ham United, Fernandes tweeted that the performance from the R's was "not good enough", which was met with replies from some fans that questioned the logic of allowing Remy to join Chelsea and not secure the services of a replacement, despite efforts to try to sign Liverpool's Fabio Borini.

However, Fernandes replied on the social networking site earlier today by branding those that have bemoaned Remy's exits as "armchair critics".

"We have always been on the back foot with players. We had so many loans last year as we cleared out," he wrote. "I love the Remy comments. Remy was staying, he was in my house for dinner to sign the extension. Then Chelsea called. What back up pls?

"Yeah I can pull out a striker in 24 hours. We tried hard with Borini. So pls tell me me what you would have done? Damned easy to be armchair critics."

QPR, who are bottom of the Premier League, have failed to score in four of their seven matches this term.
