James Rodriguez 'will return stronger' from injury

Colombian international James Rodriguez promises Real Madrid fans that he will "come back stronger" from his thigh injury.

Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez has vowed to fans that he will "come back stronger" after suffering a torn thigh muscle on international duty.

The 24-year-old picked up a problem in Colombia's friendly against Peru on Tuesday, and despite initially believing that the injury was not serious, a scan on Thursday revealed that the tear will keep him out for at least three weeks.

However, a post on Rodriguez's Instagram revealed that he is optimistic and hopes to return to action sooner rather than later.

The Colombian said: "In my mind is only coming back more strong. Coming back stronger!"

Madrid will be without Rodriguez for their trip to Espanyol later today.
