Spanish midfielder Xabi Alonso has returned to first-team training with Real Madrid.
The 31-year-old has not played for Carlo Ancelotti's side this season after undergoing groin surgery in the summer.
The playmaker's recovery period has been longer than expected after he suffered a metatarsal injury in August, which required a further operation.
However, having undergone an individual recovery programme over the last couple of weeks, the former Liverpool midfielder has now been given the go-ahead to resume contact training with his club.
