Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets 'hopes' that Real Madrid are made to regret selling Cristiano Ronaldo this summer.

Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets has said that he 'hopes' Real Madrid are made to regret selling Cristiano Ronaldo in this summer's transfer window.

Ronaldo scored 450 goals in 438 appearances for Los Blancos before leaving for Juventus, and he made his debut for the Italian champions in their 3-2 win over Chievo on Saturday afternoon.

The 33-year-old also scored 18 times against Barcelona during his time at the Bernabeu, and Busquets wants his team's great rivals to "miss" the Portugal international.

"I hope they miss him and notice the lack of goals," Busquets told El Pais.

Barcelona opened their 2018-19 La Liga campaign with a 3-0 win over Alaves on Saturday. Madrid, meanwhile, will begin their new league season against Getafe on Sunday night.
