Vicente del Bosque: 'Iker Casillas is not retiring'

Spain boss Vicente del Bosque denies that Iker Casillas has taken the decision to retire from international football.

Spain boss Vicente del Bosque has insisted that Iker Casillas has not made the decision to retire from international football.

It is understood that the Real Madrid stopper has decided to step down from international duty after seemingly losing his number one spot to David de Gea.

However, Del Bosque has said that Casillas has not informed him of any decision.

"I've read a story about Casillas wanting to retire from international duty but I don't know anything about it," he told Radio Nacional de Espana.

"I don't think there's any truth to it. He has not told me anything."

Casillas has been criticised for his form at both club and international level over the last 12 months.
