Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has vowed not to sell Portuguese winger Cristiano Ronaldo if he is re-elected for another term.
Perez has insisted that he would turn down any bid even if he were offered £850m for the player, which is the equivalent of €1bn.
"Cristiano Ronaldo has a two-year contract and is the best player in the world," Marca quotes Perez as saying. "I wouldn't sell him not even for €1bn. I'll do everything in my power to renew Cristiano Ronaldo's contract.
"I would like him to stay here until the end of his sporting career. He's a born winner and he wants to win titles and lots of Ballon d'Ors and Real Madrid is the place to do it."
Ronaldo has been strongly linked with a move to Chelsea should the Blues appoint former Real coach Jose Mourinho as manager.
