Real Madrid and Barcelona could reportedly go head to head for the signature of Sao Paulo midfielder Igor Gomes during this summer's transfer window.
The 21-year-old, who has been deemed the 'new Kaka' by the Brazilian press, is believed to have a release clause of €50m (£44m) in his current deal.
According to AS, Madrid have scouted the midfielder extensively this season as they weigh up a summer move, but Barca are also said to be interested in signing the Brazil Under-20 international.
Gomes has contributed three goals in 31 appearances for Sao Paulo since making the step into the first team.
Sevilla and Ajax have also been credited with an interest in the midfielder, who featured for his country at the 2019 South American Under-20 Championships.
Gomes is believed to have a close friendship with Madrid youngster Rodrygo Goes.
