Around 10,000 people turn up to watch the Republic of Ireland squad take part in an open training session.

An estimated 10,000 supporters attended the Republic of Ireland's opening training session in Sopot yesterday evening.

Giovanni Trapattoni's squad were put through their paces at a local stadium as their preparations for Euro 2012 gathers pace.

Veteran goalkeeper Shay Given was the only member of the squad that did not take a full part in the session.

However, the Aston Villa stopper has since been passed fit for Ireland's upcoming fixtures.

The Irish open up their campaign against Croatia on Sunday.
