Entering the battle for a precious Champions League place, Slavia Prague and Union SG meet for the first leg of their third qualifying round tie on Wednesday.

Both finished second in their domestic league last season, and they are now just two steps away from the new-look group stage.

We say: Slavia Prague 2-1 Union SG

After positive pre-seasons and good starts to their respective domestic campaigns, both teams are tuned up for this important first-leg contest.

Home advantage should see Slavia edge a finely-balanced bout, giving them a slim lead ahead of next week's decider in Belgium.

Both looking to take the next step towards a place in this season's Champions League, Slovan Bratislava and APOEL will convene for the first leg of their third-round qualifier on Wednesday.

While Slovan have safely navigated two knockout rounds to come within touching distance of a precious playoff place, their Cypriot counterparts edged through their first European tie of the new campaign late last month.

We say: Slovan Bratislava 2-0 APOEL

Slovan are further into their 2024-25 campaign and have won both of their Champions League qualifiers at home so far; in addition to their vast experience, that should see them gain a healthy first-leg advantage on Wednesday.

Jagiellonia vs. Bodo/Glimt (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Jagiellonia Bialystok will be bidding to make home advantage count when they welcome Bodo/Glimt to Bialystok Stadium on Wednesday for the first leg of their Champions League third qualifying round fixture.

The hosts comfortably beat Panevezys in the second qualifying round, while Bodo/Glimt also breezed past Rigas Futbola Skola to secure their spot in this round of the 2024-25 Champions League.

We say: Jagiellonia Bialystok 1-1 Bodo/Glimt

Both sides were so impressive in the second qualifying round, and we are expecting a tight contest over the two legs. The home side have been excellent in the early stages of their new campaign, so we are finding it difficult to back them to lose, but Bodo/Glimt should be good enough for a draw on Wednesday night.
