Mauricio Pochettino: "Sky is the limit"

Mauricio Pochettino says that there is no limit to what Southampton can achieve if they keep on improving.

Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino has said that the "sky is the limit" for the Saints following this evening's 2-0 win over Fulham.

Rickie Lambert and Jay Rodriguez scored the goals at St Mary's to fire the South Coast club into third place in the Premier League, which represents their best start since the 1983-1984 campaign, when they finished runners-up.

"I want to congratulate my players because they put in an extraordinary performance," Pochettino told Sky Sports News. "It is not just about my players that are playing regularly, but also that are not playing regularly and are on the bench.

"It shows that we believe as a collective, we are playing as a collective and reaping the results from that. I have been saying for a couple of weeks now that the sky is the limit. We don't set ourselves any limits.

"The most important thing is that we keep on learning, that we keep on improving, that we keep on playing as a team. The position in the league now is not important, the main thing is that we continue improving."

The Argentine takes his team to the Britannia Stadium to face Stoke City next Saturday.
