Tottenham winger Andros Townsend hopes an impressive performance in tonight’s Europa League encounter against Shamrock Rovers will help him towards his dream of a regular starting spot with his boyhood club.
The 20-year-old, who grew up in nearby Chingford, is hoping to make his mark at White Hart Lane after loan spells at Leyton Orient, Millwall and Watford.
"This is my biggest season yet. This is my first real chance to show the manager in actual first team games what I'm capable of,” he said.
"It's a massive night and will be a special occasion against Shamrock.
"I believe I have the ability to break into the first team. This is the perfect chance for me to show the manager what I can do and show him that I can play a part in the future of this club.”
Townsend has represented England at Under-16, 17 and 19 levels.
