Half-Time Report: Spurs, Wigan level at half time
Tottenham Hotspur and Wigan Athletic are level at half time in the Premier League this afternoon.

Two early goals have resulted in Tottenham Hotspur and Wigan Athletic reaching half time level at the DW Stadium.

The visitors made a bright start to the match, as Tom Huddlestone saw his free kick bounce back off the post inside the opening five minutes.

Gareth Bale broke the deadlock four minutes later, as an attempted clearance by Joel Robles bounced off the Wales international to put Spurs ahead.

However, the lead was short-lived, as Emmerson Boyce rose high to meet a corner kick, and headed past Hugo Lloris in the 10th minute.

Jermain Defoe had a chance to put Tottenham ahead again just before the half-hour mark, but the striker's shot was blocked by Maynor Figueroa, who was injured in the process.

Defoe crossed the ball into the Wigan penalty area just before half time, but Bale could not keep his header down.
