Team News: Christian Eriksen makes Spurs debut

New signing Christian Eriksen starts his first game for Tottenham Hotspur, but Erik Lamela is a substitute.

New signing Christian Eriksen has been handed his first start as they face Norwich City at White Hart Lane, but Erik Lamela only makes the bench.

However, Andre Villas-Boas is without midfielders Etienne Capoue and Aaron Lennon through injury. Meanwhile, new defender Vlad Chiriches is unavailable as the club have yet to secure a work permit for the player.

Roberto Soldado, who already has two Premier League goals to his name, will start up front for Spurs.

Chris Hughton continues with Dutch striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel leading the attack, but Gary Hooper's shin injury means he must settle for a place on the bench.

The Canaries have a reasonable record at White Hart Lane, having lost on only two of their last six visits.

Tottenham: Lloris; Walker, Dawson, Vertonghen, Rose; Dembele, Paulinho; Townsend, Eriksen, Sigurdsson; Soldado

Norwich: Ruddy; Whittaker, Bassong, Turner, Garrido; Snodgrass, Fer, Johnson, Redmond; Elmander; van Wolfswinkel
