Report: Tottenham Hotspur to make January bid for Celtic's Virgil van Dijk

Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly try to sign £10m-rated Celtic defender Virgil van Dijk in the January transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly planning to pursue Celtic defender Virgil van Dijk when the transfer window reopens in January.

The £10m-rated Dutchman is believed to have attracted interest from a number of Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Manchester City, Newcastle United and Swansea City.

According to The Express, Tottenham will try to lure the 23-year-old to White Hart Lane with help from new head of recruitment Paul Mitchell, who tried to sign Van Dijk for Southampton in the summer for around £8m.

The defender moved to Celtic from Groningen for £2.6m in 2013.
