An ankle problem forces Tottenham Hotspur's Gareth Bale to miss Wales training for a third day.

Tottenham Hotspur winger Gareth Bale missed his third Wales training session in succession this afternoon ahead of their World Cup qualifier against Scotland on Friday night.

It had been reported that the 23-year-old would return to training today following a spell away from his teammates with an ankle injury.

However, the knock has not healed sufficiently and as a result Bale is believed to have spent some time in the gym.

Despite his continued absence, Wales coach Chris Coleman is said to be confident that he will be able to select the Spurs player at Hampden Park.
