St Gallen boss tips Swansea City for Europa League progression

St Gallen manager Jeff Saibene says that Swansea City are the favourites to win Group A of the Europa League.

St Gallen manager Jeff Saibene has tipped Swansea City to progress to the next phase of the Europa League as Group A winners.

The Luxembourgian coach believes that the Premier League outfit are the "group favourites", but insists that his side has the potential to cause an upset when they meet at the Liberty Stadium on Thursday evening.

"Basel have played well against English opposition before, they played very well against Tottenham in the Europa League last season," PA/em> quotes him as saying. "They are an example for us that we can achieve something here against English opponents.

"We don't want to come here and just hide, we are going to go out and give our all. We can take confidence, not just from our win over Kuban Krasnodar, but also from our two games against Spartak Moscow.

"When the draw was made we were not given much of a chance to get through, but we did, and that has given us confidence, and we arrive here unbeaten in 12 games."

Swansea won their Group A opener against Valencia 3-0 in Spain.
