Swansea City have reportedly made an attempt to re-sign Marvin Emnes from Middlesbrough on a loan deal until the end of the season.
The Dutch striker spent a short spell at the Liberty Stadium in the 2010-2011 campaign, scoring two goals in five matches including the winner against Cardiff City.
He has only found the net once in 24 games for Boro this term, but that record does not seem to have deterred Michael Laudrup from making a bid to bring the 25-year-old back to South Wales.
The Swans manager has already recruited forward David N'gog from Bolton Wanderers and young midfielders Jay Fulton and Adam King in this transfer window to strengthen his injury-depleted squad.
