Team GB boss Stuart Pearce insists that Daniel Sturridge and Tom Cleverley will have benefited from the Olympics this summer.

Team GB boss Stuart Pearce believes that the Olympic experience will benefit Daniel Sturridge and Tom Cleverley in their later careers.

The English duo played a key role in Team GB's run to the quarter-finals this summer, and Pearce has backed them to make the senior England squad.

"I certainly think they'll be around the squad. The way [Tom] Cleverley can handle the ball and with [Daniel] Sturridge's eye for goal, they're two individuals who can be in and around the senior England team. That's my opinion," Pearce told Sky Sports News.

"They've both benefited from this tournament and they'll go back to their clubs, Man Utd and Chelsea, with something to prove."

Team GB were eliminated from the Olympics against South Korea on Saturday.
