Tranmere Rovers goalkeeper Owain Fon Williams will reportedly turn down a move to the Championship in favour of remaining at Prenton Park.

Tranmere Rovers goalkeeper Owain Fon Williams will reportedly remain at the club next season despite interest from Championship sides.

The Wales international has been linked with Ipswich Town and Blackpool in recent weeks, but is on the brink of signing a new deal at Prenton Park.

Fon Williams joined his Tranmere teammates for pre-season training this week, and remains part of manager Ronnie Moore's plans for next season, according to Sky Sports News.

"He's had offers from elsewhere that he has turned down and says he wants to stay here, so hopefully we will get that sorted soon," said Moore.

Fon Williams has represented Wales at Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 levels in the past, but is yet to earn a cap for the senior team despite featuring in the squad.
