West Browmich Albion head coach Steve Clarke has called on the club's supporters to refrain from jeering forward Peter Odemwingie following last month's transfer mix-up.
The Nigerian striker attempted to orchestrate a move to Queens Park Rangers on deadline day of the January window, only to be turned away by the club due to the Baggies' unwillingness to let Odemwingie speak to the struggling Premier League outfit.
While Clarke has admitted that he 'understands' why some fans may want to give Odemwingie a frosty reception, he has urged them to "support the team".
"I understand some of the supporters might not want to forgive Peter quickly but, when they go to the stadium, all I ask is they support the team," BBC Sport quotes Clarke as saying.
The former Liverpool assistant boss has suggested that Odemwingie could feature in this weekend's match against Sunderland.
