West Ham United will reportedly give consideration to selling Said Benrahma during the January transfer window.

West Ham United are reportedly open to cashing in on Said Benrahma during the January transfer window.

When the Hammers committed to paying in the region of £30m on Benrahma in 2020, he had not played any Premier League football, instead featuring for Brentford in the Championship.

However, the Algeria international has developed into an important player under David Moyes, contributing 24 goals and 19 assists from his 149 appearances.

That said, Benrahma has not always held down a place in the starting lineup, particularly this campaign where seven of his 16 outings have been from the substitutes' bench.

Furthermore, the 28-year-old also has just two assists to his name, with his lack of contribution putting his place in the pecking order at risk.

With over two-and-a-half years remaining on his contract at the London Stadium, neither party has to be in any rush to instigate a transfer.

Nevertheless, reports have suggested that clubs from the Saudi Pro League may be prepared to make an approach for the playmaker at the turn of the year.

According to Football Insider, club officials would be prepared to consider any offers as they bid to boost their FFP position.

If a sale is to be agreed, West Ham would allegedly have to receive 'a big offer', but that may arrive if it emerges that Benrahma is on the market.

Moyes is relatively well stocked for options in the final third, helped by the summer arrival of Mohammed Kudus, while Lucas Paqueta has also been deployed in a wider role in comparison to last season.

West Ham may also look at a scenario where they could sell Benrahma and bring in a replacement for a cheaper fee as they bid to meet all financial regulations.

The East London outfit are already in a position where they will not have Benrahma's services during the early part of 2024 courtesy of his expected involvement in the Africa Cup of Nations.

That also applies to Kudus, arguably giving Moyes a reason to assess potential alternatives for Benrahma in the transfer market.
