West Ham United are reportedly keen to secure the signing of Watford defender Craig Dawson.
The Hammers had hoped to bring in Chelsea's Fikayo Tomori on a season-long loan deal, only for the England international to pull out of a switch to the London Stadium.
However, Premier League clubs are able to conduct business with EFL sides until October 16, regulations which are expected to benefit the East Londoners.
According to Football Insider, West Ham will now press ahead with discussions over the potential arrival of Dawson.
The 30-year-old has not featured in the Championship since the beginning of the season, leaving the Hornets prepared to cash in on the player.
As it stands, it is unclear whether the two clubs will look to agree a permanent or temporary deal.
