Wigan Athletic and Brentford ends in stalemate

Uwe Rosler's Wigan Athletic are held to a 0-0 Championship draw by his former club Brentford at the DW Stadium.

Wigan Athletic could only manage a 0-0 draw with Brentford at the DW Stadium this afternoon as they remain in trouble at the bottom of the Championship table.

It was Uwe Rosler's former side that started the brighter, and they could have been ahead inside the opening 10 minutes as both Moses Odubajo and Jota spurned good chances.

Don Cowie went close for the hosts, before Leon Barnett headed a Shaun Maloney corner over the bar.

Maloney then forced a save out of David Button with a curling strike midway through the first half.

Ivan Ramis, Tony Craig and James Tarkowski were all booked for their part in a fight that broke out on the hour mark, but there was little goalmouth action to speak of.

Alex Pritchard tested Scott Carson as Brentford tried to find a winner, but the points were shared come the final whistle.
