Kenny Jackett "proud" to see Wolverhampton Wanderers promoted

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Kenny Jackett admits that he is "proud" to have taken the club back to the Championship following promotion from League One.

Kenny Jackett has admitted that he is "proud" to have taken Wolverhampton Wanderers back to the Championship at the first time of asking.

Wolves secured their promotion with a 2-0 victory over Crewe Alexander, courtesy of goals from Kevin McDonald and David Edwards.

"After a couple of disappointing seasons it's good we haven't stayed in League One too long," Jackett is quoted as saying by the Birmingham Mail. "It's a big effort by everybody, I am very proud that we bounced back at the first attempt.

"You feel expectation at the start of the season, in any job whether it be a big club, a medium-sized club or a small club, there's pressure. But what there is also at Wolves is expectation. That comes with the territory for having such a big club, a broad fan base and first class facilities.

"I know that. I am happy to accept that. We can genuinely look with enthusiasm at being in the Championship next season. It's a wonderful feeling to have got over the line. It's a feeling we want again and something we have to build on."

Wolves are back in action on Friday when they take on Rotherham United.
