Wolverhampton Wanderers chief executive Jez Moxey hints at Bakary Sako exit

Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey admits that winger Bakary Sako could leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Wolverhampton Wanderers chief executive Jez Moxey has admitted that winger Bakary Sako could leave the club this summer.

The Mali international's contract at Molineux expires at the end of the season and he is yet to pen fresh terms with the Championship outfit.

Aston Villa and West Bromwich Albion are among the Premier League clubs who are keen on signing Sako, while there is also interest from abroad.

"Every fan knows the pull of the Premier League," Moxey is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "We're talking about monies now which are so out of the stratosphere that no Championship club can compete with any Premier League club when it comes to a like-for-like financial basis.

"Sako has been a fantastic servant and we'll be talking to him shortly. We'll see what he wants to do. We want to keep him but as a free agent when the Premier League comes calling you have to be realistic."

Sako, who has scored 15 goals this season, joined Wolves from Saint-Etienne in 2012.
