Zimbabwe, Uganda play out goalless draw

Uganda stay top of Group B in the African Nations Championship after drawing 0-0 against Zimbabwe.

Uganda remain top of Group B in the African Nations Championship after their match against Zimbabwe finished 0-0.

Tawande Muparati had the first chance of the match when the ball broke to him on the edge of the Uganda penalty area, but his effort was comfortably saved by Benjamin Ochan.

In a largely quiet first half it was Uganda who carved out the best opening a minute before time, but Yunus Sentamu fired his volley well wide of the target from 12 yards out.

Ochan was forced into another save before the break when he blocked Simbarashe Sithole's effort from a tight angle.

Uganda almost broke the deadlock five minutes into the second half when Sentamu headed a dangerous free kick narrowly wide of the post.

Zimbabwe improved as the half progressed and they came closest to scoring when Kudakwashe Mahachi's cross struck the post.

Mahachi then whipped a left-foot cross into the box, which Charles Sibanda nodded wide.
