Weller Hauraki given two-match ban

Castleford forward Weller Hauraki will miss the Challenge Cup semi-final with Widnes after being handed a two-match ban by the Rugby Football League's match review panel.

Castleford Tigers forward Weller Hauraki has been handed a two-match ban and a £300 fine after admitting a Grade C offence of recklessly striking with his knees.

The suspension rules Hauraki, 29, out of the Challenge Cup semi-final with Widnes.

The incident occurred in a clash with Hull's teenage stand-off Jordan Abdull in the Tigers' 18-18 Super League draw at the KC Stadium last Thursday.

Hauraki, who is leaving Castleford at the end of the year to join Salford, was not penalised at the time but referee James Child placed the incident on report and he was subsequently charged by the Rugby Football League's match review panel.
