Shaun Wane happy to grind out win

Wigan Warriors coach Shaun Wane admits that his side had to grind out their 20-16 win against Leeds Rhinos in Super League on Sunday.

Wigan Warriors coach Shaun Wane has admitted that his side was forced to grind out their win against Leeds Rhinos in the Super League on Sunday.

The league leaders earned an 11th consecutive victory in the competition as they saw off the defending champions 20-16 at the Etihad Stadium.

"It was enjoyable to grind out a win," Wane told Sky Sports News. "We've not been in many arm wrestles recently.

"We were not at our best in our attack but our defence was solid and we played with a lot of energy."

Wigan resume their campaign next Sunday with a trip to Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.
