Richard Cockerill pleased with Leicester Tigers' European Champions Cup draw

Leicester Tigers director of rugby Richard Cockerill admits that his side's European Champions Cup draw could have been tougher.

Leicester Tigers director of rugby Richard Cockerill has admitted that his side could have been handed a tougher draw in the European Champions Cup.

The Tigers start with a trip to Stade Francais after being drawn in Pool Five alongside the Top 14 champions, as well as Munster and Treviso.

"It is a tough pool but there are tougher pools in the tournament," he told reporters.

"Treviso are in our group so we would hope to get points there, but we will treat them with respect.

"We have to make sure we come out it and get a home quarter-final. That is our ambition."

Leicester have undergone something of a revamp over the summer, bringing in nine new faces, in addition to installing former All Black Aaron Mauger as head coach.
