Gilles Simon and Gael Monfils have broken the record for the longest rally in Australian Open history.
However, their 71-shot marathon fell 15 strokes short of the all-time Grand Slam record held by Bjorn Borg and Guillermo Vilas, set at the 1978 French Open.
World number 16 Simon went on to win the point and the match to set up a clash with Andy Murray.
He later revealed that he is struggling with fitness ahead of the last-16 encounter.
